Jimi
Velazquez has become one of
the most prominent, in-demand guitarist and vocalist and has
quickly established himself as one of the finest interpreters
of the great American, Pop and Latin Music in the Island.
He loves his "Cuatro", but he is a master of the
electric and classicl guitar. As a one-man band or with his
trio he can cover all styles such as:
- Reggae
- Rock
- Pop
- Jazz
- Latin music (Salsa, Merengue,Plena, Calypso,
Raggaeton, etc.)
- You name it!
Jimi is known for his diversity of styles.
Classically trained he holds Batchelor and Master's degrees
from the Conservatory of Music from Puerto Rico. He has performed
in concerts on Radio and Television in Puerto Rico for many
years. He has been a featured artist at international song
festivals as musical director and guitarist for most of the
local and International Star singers. Jimi has headlined for
extended engagements at the Westing Rio Mar Casino Resort
and Spa. Recently Jimi completed a highly successful 3 years
engagement with this Hotel, Playing during peak hours five
days a week, entertaining conventions and guest's visiting
the island.
